Jude Evans - Publisher, Little Tiger Press

Describe your job in just three words!
Creating amazing books.

What is your most treasured childhood book?
The BFG. It was the first Roald Dahl I read and I was enchanted by the warmth and wit of his writing, as well as his mercilessly acid and clever observations of human nature. The world of his imagination is so very real, and his characters are incredible and unforgettable.

If you could invite anyone in the world, who would attend your dream Little Tiger tea party?
For my dream Little Tiger tea party I'd invite a child from every country in the world: from every background, no matter how impoverished or privileged. I'd love for them to share equally the books and the experience, and to share the bond reading aloud together can create; to inspire them before they can learn prejudice, limitation and stereotype. (I'm aware we'd need a lot of translators, and a LOT of cake.)

Where would you most like to go on an adventure?
Madagascar - for the extraordinary animals and landscape, and to see the world from a totally contrasting perspective. (But I'd also like someone with me to chase away the 450 different species of spiders...)

What is your most treasured childhood book?
Haunted House by Jan Pienkowski. As a five-year-old I was utterly mesmerized by all those spooky pop-ups and latched onto a copy owned by my friend next door. It was eventually donated to my bookshelf in a bid to keep me quiet.

If you could invite anyone in the world, who would attend your dream Little Tiger tea party?
Assuming deceased guests wouldn't be turned away, then Muppet-creator Jim Henson would be high on my list. The world of the Muppets overflows with creativity, humour and an unabashed humanity that is so touching - just listen to Kermit sing 'It's Not Easy Being Green'. Jim was a genius.

Where would you most like to go on an adventure?
Oh, probably somewhere secretive and shadowy, like exploring an abandoned London Underground station or diving down to some mysterious shipwreck at the bottom of the ocean.
